Gr 3-6-Scores of kids will relate to the funny family dynamics of the Fox family. The book follows mischievous fifth-grader Jason and his older sister and brother as they navigate the trials and tribulations of school crushes, homework, friendships, and family life. The comics are grouped in small story arcs, with the occasional stand-alone strip. Considering that some of them are nearly 15 years old (pulled from 1997-'99), they hold up well. FoxTrot has always been one of the stronger comics, rarely falling into the monotony that often plagues other strips. The four-panel illustrations are rendered in black and white and have been successfully reformatted into a two-by-two-inch layout. This collection is a nice introduction to FoxTrot for new audiences. It will likely leave readers wanting more.-Travis Jonker, Wayland Union Schools, MIα(c) Copyright 2011. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. Hilarious for any age.
By Grrrr
FOXTROT has always been a comic strip that could make me laugh out loud, even when I'm alone by myself, and that's saying something. Unlike the staleness of Peanuts (pun definitely intended) and the saccharine sweetness of Family Circus, the adventures of the Fox Family (along with the great Calvin and Hobbes) have always been fresh and hilariously innovative and I'm so glad to see this collection available on Kindle.

too short
By gigahertz
It was GREAT. the only reason it has a four is because it was way too short for it's price (or too expensive for it's length) it's the only foxtrot in Ebook form and I can't find anything else. Definitely recommended, despite obvious flaw

Very Funny
By Peggy A
The book is very funny, and there were many panels that make me laugh out loud, literally. My fellow commuters were probably wondering what was so funny! ;)
I don't know why the product description refers to the book as "kid targeted," since that implies that the comics are geared towards children. That is not the case; many of these cartoons can be appreciated only by someone with experience in the school of life. Is "Peanuts," a comic strip for kids? No! So it's important to remember that just because the comic strip's characters are children does not means that the humor is targeted at children. It might be more appropriate to refer to the book as "parent targeted," but that isn't exactly correct either, since people who aren't parents will enjoy it, too.
Take for example, the comic that has Jason, the youngest boy, learning how to toss popcorn into the air and catch it in his mouth. After a couple of failed attempts, he catches a popped kernel in his mouth, leading to a mighty celebration. The strip pans out to show a floor buried in missed popcorn kernels. His mother, with popped kernels up to her hips, and a very put-upon expression, says, "Congratulations, here's the vacuum." And Jason replies, "Oh fine. Squash my moment." If you think that's funny, you'll enjoy the collection.
This is a very well presented electronic version of a comic strip. The comics are easy to read on the Kindle Fire. Each strip is shown in a four-panel presentation (mostly) on a single page of the Kindle. The length compares favorably to other comic strip book collections, and there are approximately 125 comics in the collection.
